Louis Vuitton Chicago Renovation
Experience with Previous Employer
The project consisted of a gut rehabilitation of the ground floor retail space at the historic Palmolive building. The high profile store is located on Chicago's famous Magnificient Mile (Michigan Avenue) and is Louis Vuitton's flagship store in the city. The two-story space was evaluated for increased floor loading for vaults and high density storage, as well as new floor openings for mechanical systems and elevator shafts. A new elevator and dumbwaiter were installed requiring new pits be built into the 88-year-old floor construction and suspended over below grade parking.
